Blizzard have decided to allow players to keep their leftover honor points and tokens when WotLK hits. It seems there were too many problems occuring if they did it and the majority of players weren’t happy about it.

We had hoped that the introduction of some new Honor rewards in the upcoming patch would give players a great opportunity to spend any of their remaining Honor. However, many players would still be surprised by an Honor and token reset as it isn’t something we’ve done in the past. As such, we’ve decided to not reset Honor or tokens upon the release of Wrath of the Lich King. Players who save their Honor will be able to spend it on level 80 rewards, although those rewards will be significantly more expensive than their level 70 counterparts.

With the return of King Varian Wrynn, Blizzard decided to give both him, and Lady Sylvanas a facelift (and more!). King Wrynn looks like someone you wouldn’t want to pick a fight with, due to his massive dual-wield swords, his awesome looking armor, and the mean look on his face. While Lady Sylvanas looks downright sexy with her new (revealing) armor.

Sorry to break it to you all, but Honor Points and Marks of Honor will be resetting upon the release of the expansion. The blue post confirming this can be found here.

As many of you know we will be featuring a new Battleground, a dedicated world PvP zone and all new PvP items in Wrath of the Lich King. In order to make the transition from The Burning Crusade to Wrath of the Lich King flow as smoothly as possible, all accrued honor points will be reset at the launch of the expansion. We do this to ensure select players do not have an unfair advantage at level 80 from stockpiling honor to instantly purchase the newest Wrath of the Lich King PvP rewards. For those with unspent honor points prior to the release of the expansion, we will be offering a few upgrades and special rewards in next content patch solely for purchase via the honor system.

If you find anything on these ’special rewards’ please post about it along with a link and I’ll add it to the article.

World of Warcraft, Wrath of the Lich King

It’s been a while since I’ve done a spotlight, and I wasn’t intending to start again, preferring to work on Wrath of the Lich King beta previews and class guides, but when I saw this video, I couldn’t resist sharing it.

It is, in my opinion, a legendary PvP video, filmed by a tauren warrior in season four arena gear.  The editing included is incredible, and it is truly worth watching.

Blizzcore

Blizzard’s ripoff of Oktoberfest has begun!

Celebrated by both the Horde and the Alliance, the Brewfest is a time to enjoy the fruits of the harvest: pretzels, cheese, and brew! The competing breweries Thunderbrew, Barleybrew, and the Ogres, all come together outside of all the major cities in a bid to outdo each other with their special ales, meads, and beers. Brave adventurers are invited to sit back, take a pull, and sample the finest wares these brewers have to offer!

There is a lot of things to do during this event, some of them being:

Ram Racing - Racing Rams….

Seek out the Saboteurs - A new event within Brewfest, players must search deep in Blackrock Depths for the mastermind behind the Dark Iron Dwarf attacks. This boss will drop epic weapons, trinkets, and mounts.

Brew of the Month Club - For just 200 Brewfest tokens, players can join this club. A member of this club will recieve a special brew in the mail every month, each with different properties.

Barkers Wanted - Head into Ironforge of Orgrimmar shouting out who makes the best beer. This quest was bugged last year, let’s hope it works better this year.

Defend the Fest - Dark Iron Dwarves periodically attack the Brewfest to try and destroy the beer. Your job is to defend the beer. This event was also very bugged last year, and would cause disconnections.

Ceremonial Keg-Tapping - Twice a day, the minor leaders of Ironforge and Orgrimmar head to the Brewfest to tap the kegs. Witnessing this event awards a buff which increases experience gained by 10%.

Most of these award Brewfest Tokens, which can be used to buy some pretty awesome stuff. For more info, visit here.

World of Warcraft

Blizzard has updated their Diablo 3 bestiary with the Dune Thresher. An animation of it along with some lore can be found at the link provided.

After reading the lore, I assume you’ll encounter these in the acts that take place in desert settings and perhaps treading on more solid surfaces instead of sand will reduce your chances of having these guys pop up to attack you.
