The upcoming WotLK Instance, Ulduar, is due for its release on the public test realms very soon. With high expectations due to lack of difficulty and how good the Malygos encounter actually was, Ulduar is in high demand from many for different reasons regardless. With many top end guilds already defeating Malygos and completing the so called “hard” achievements, one wonders if Blizzard are going to step it up a gear this time round. Here is what Vaneras had to say on the issue:

Today in the Blizzcore movie spotlight - how to wipe your Sapphiron raid with beer! For those few who don’t mind taking some extra repair costs, consuming Lord of Frost’s Private Label purchased from brew vendors in Ironforge and Orgrimmar is a great way to have revenge on your raid group.

Account security is very important to us. As we have recently seen a rise in the number of compromised World of Warcraft accounts, we recommend you to take a few moments to read these tips to help protect your privacy and ensure your security.
* Verify that your email address in Account Management (http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/account) is current. You can see your address on the right side of the Account Management page and change it with the “Change Contact Info” button.
* Make sure your operating system, web browser, and other software is up-to-date with the latest patches and security updates.
* Scan your computer for viruses, Trojans, and key loggers.
* After doing this, we highly recommend changing the password on the account to a brand-new, unique one, and making sure to keep this password private.
These simple steps can go a long way in maintaining account security. If you are seeking an additional layer of security, consider purchasing the optional Blizzard Authenticator, available at the online Blizzard Store (http://www.blizzard.com/store/details.xml?id=1100000182). For more security tips, please visit our World of Warcraft Account Security page (http://us.blizzard.com/support/article.xml?articleId=20572&rhtml=true?rhtml=y).
We hope you have a happy — and safe — holiday season!

Ghostcrawler has given some info on Dual Spec’s swapping glyphs and action bars, as well as a hint of the mechanics of swapping specs.
The idea is to let you swap glyphs and action bars along with your talents.
It will be trivial to do in town.
You will also be able to do it out of towns, but not as trivially.
We hope to have this done for the next major content patch, but it’s a big feature and takes some time.
Thanks to Wryxian we have a hint that there will be additional features to the Dual Spec feature.
Yes, we’ve mentioned the dual spec feature will also include glyph and action bar swapping. There might well be more than that too, but if so, we’re not quite ready to reveal it.
Before we speculate on what we don’t know, let’s recap what we do know they want to implement:
- Talent Swapping
- Different Builds for Different Situations
- No Cooldown
- No Gold Cost
- Remembers Action Bar Buttons
- Won’t let you change specs within an Arena or BG, nor will it let you do it in combat of any kind.
- They want it to be in patch 3.1, not 3.0.8, and it is not currently on the PTR
So what other systems do we have to deal with in switching specs? How else could Blizzard make it easier for us to manage everything that must change? Let’s engage in some wild speculation and brain storming for a moment on complementary changes. Read more…

Blizzard have recently announced that a 10 day trail, for the latest expansion, Wrath of the Lich King is now available. There will be no boundaries within the trail, participants being able to test all of the features announced and that are available currently and a full subscription. Although the usual restrictions do apply and owning a copy of WoW and TBC is required to play the trail. One can only come to believe that Blizzard once again is trying to extend it’s fan base.

Since my last post on Duel Specs, there is a bit more info on what Blizzard wants them to do for players. This post from Ghostcrawler lays out the basic idea of Dual Specs.
We are working on the dual spec feature and would like to get it in for the next major patch.
Its primary purposes is so that player feel like they dont need to keep respec’ing for different roles or kinds of content. By far the two biggest cases where we think this is needed are:
The player who want to both PvP and run instances.
The player who swaps frequently among tanking, healing or dps (even if the dps part is to solo).
Here is a quick breakdown from my previous analysis of what’s included in the Dual Spec mechanism: Read more…

The ‘Character Re-Customisation’ package is the culimation of all previous customisation options afforded to the WoW player base. Encompassing the character name change and barbershop features with the added ability to finally edit those remain few aesthetic choices like face type, colour and even gender.
Maybe you are sick of your female night elf or your tauren’s obtrusive horns. Now is your opportunity to go back to the drawing board and put things right. There is a $15 is a flat fee that covers the complete makeover for one character. A bargain really, considering a name change alone would previously set you back $10, now for an extra $5 you can essentially recreate your character from scratch.

As I have been playing my Death Knight quite a bit and learning how I like the different talent trees, I have been watching my gold cost increase for each re-spec. While I have not yet maxed out at 50 gold, I would really like a fast and cheap way to swap between Blood and Unholy. Right now I use the Talented addon to quickly apply a new set of talents, but I still have to visit a trainer, unlearn, then apply my new spec, then change out my macros and action bar settings.
However, what if I could switch between two talent specs anywhere in the world, quickly and easily? Enter the planned change of Dual Spec, which is possibly going in next patch. Read more…
